3. Objectives of Using Personal Information

4. Providing personal information to a third party

Except under the circumstances listed below, YAMAGATA does not provide personal information to a third party

  1. Consent has been obtained from person(s) in question.
  2. There is a legal obligation.
  3. A situation arises in which providing personal information is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain consent.
  4. A situation arises in which disclosure is especially necessary for the betterment of public health or the promotion of the healthy development of children and it is difficult to obtain consent.
  5. A situation arises in which it is necessary to cooperate with national or local authorities or persons entrusted by said authorities in fulfilling duties pursuant to the provisions of law and it is possible that obtaining consent would disrupt the fulfillment of said duties.
  6. So that work may be carried out smoothly, the handling of personal information is outsourced in whole or in part within the extent necessary to achieve the objectives of its use.

5. Outsourcing the handling of personal information

So that we can offer better service, in the course of its business operations, YAMAGATA outsources a portion of its work. There are times when we make personal information available to the entities to which we outsource. In these circumstances, we appoint entities for outsourcing whose handling of personal information has been deemed appropriate, and we ensure that personal information will be managed appropriately by stipulating in contract as necessary conditions that the entity to which we outsource will manage personal information appropriately and honor confidentiality to prevent any leakage of personal information.

6. Requests to disclose personal information

Requests can be made to YAMAGATA regarding disclosing personal information (including stating the objectives of use; disclosure; altering, adding, or deleting content; suspending or terminating use; suspending disclosure to a third party). After verifying the identity of the client, we will respond to applications within a reasonable timeframe. 7. Discretion in providing personal information

Whether or not to provide personal information to YAMAGATA is left to the discretion of our clients. However, there may be some services we cannot properly provide if we do not receive sufficient information.

8. Acquisition of personal information by methods not easily recognizable by the person

All portions of our site into which personal information is entered use an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) data encryption system. We have taken the further precaution of protecting all information on our site by installing a firewall. However, due to the nature of internet communications, please be sure to understand that we do not guarantee total security.

9. Authorized Personal Information Protection Organization

The Authorized Personal Information Protection Organization is legally recognized by the competent ministers under Article 37 of the Personal Information Protection Act. This organization works to ensure that the handling of private information is appropriately managed by dealing with complaints about member entities’ handling of private information and keeping their member entities informed.
Our company does not have a relationship with the Authorized Personal Information Protection Organization.
